Christian Moral Choice—Whom Do We Fear?

With only a day to go before our national vote, (supposedly) conservative Christians are still agonizing about what to do. Although, the more dangerous concern for us as a country is that the agonizing is over, and the decision has been made to vote for a candidate that is wildly unqualified for office. When we think about qualifications we ought not be thinking about what we guess it will take to win the election. We ought to be thinking along the lines of making choices based on Biblical principle.

The Biblical qualifications for civil government leadership are “…able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain” (Exodus 18). Neither of the two front runners comes within a moon shot of these godly ideals. The fact is they likely fail on every point. Now, the Christian church finds itself agonizing about what to do; many having decided that if they are going to choose between the lesser of two evils, then the Republican is their man. They find themselves out stumping for an idolatrous, trinity-denying, heretic, and crushing the voice of the Spirit within them that says, “you shall have no other gods before Me,” and Who forbade them repeatedly to allow idolaters to remain in their midst. Now, they not only are willing to retain them in their midst, but are getting ready to vote one into the highest office in the land. They are so frightened of Obama that they will slap the Lord in the face even as they hope for His mercy. It seems that no Scriptural argument will faze us in our mad-bull rush away from the current office holder.

This rejection of God, expressed as a fear of man, runs so deep that we would have a difficult time knowing what to do even if the top two candidates were Satan and the Antichrist. Arguments would run back and forth about how at least you know what you have with Satan. Everyone would want to check the record of Antichrist to see if he was as bad as everybody was saying. Polls would be checked and retaken by the hour. We would be informed that if we did not vote for Antichrist we are voting for Satan. Any suggestion of voting for a righteous, third-party candidate, would be dismissed as a wasted vote. There would be no consideration of Biblical principle or righteous action in all things. No, we would argue endlessly about how it was the most important election in memory; the nation may not be worth living in if the incumbent retains his office.

We would argue anything but sound Biblical principle or good doctrine as applies to public office. We would not search out Biblical statements concerning moral order. We would not look for Scripturally principled wisdom to inform our actions. Rather, we would wildly shake in fear for the possibility that the worst president in history might be re-elected. Yard signs reading Antichrist for president would be banged into our front yards. The agony of our rejection of the living God would be pressed beneath our hearts as our deafening voices yelled for every Antichrist vote we could muster from our ranks.

Morally, and spiritually speaking, this is us. Many of our own travelers toward the Celestial City will spit in the face of God and vote for a man He has told them, in very certain terms, to reject. They will vote to be ruled by an idolater. What will be the judgments of God Almighty if we do this thing?

  1. Don, great points! But, is anyone listening? If you’re like me, I’m sure it seems at times like your an island all to yourself. But, then, that’s precisely what some of the prophets were (I’m thinking of Jeremiah in particular). But, then there’s Yahweh’s revelation to Elijah that there were 7,000 others who were refusing along with him to bow to Baal. I stand with you and I’ll bet there’s at least 6,999 more out there who do the same. I send this out to the Kingdom Ambassador list tomorrow and I’ll bet you’ll hear from a few others who are standing with you as well.

    Blessings!

  2. I stand with you as well. Until a man slams down a bible on a podium and and uses it as a tool, a guide book, a reference book and does away with constitutionalist garbage, I am afraid I will never vote. Our nation needs do awaken to the harsh reality of falseness there following, seek God in everything we do, establish His kingdom within our households and go fourth from there with Evangelism.

    God bless,

  3. My vote can only be for Jesus. Since last elections THREW OUT MY VOTE months later I see no reason going back – why support a system that REJECTS YOUR VOTE of Christ?

My Vote is Still for Jesus, but I will cast it in my heart today.

    Deuteronomy 1:
15 So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.
16 And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

    Deuteronomy 16:
18 ¶Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.
19 Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

I also CLAIM that THIS WORLD SYSTEM refuses to allow Christians who want to fully practice Yah’s laws, statute’s and judgments t so do openly and freely and with support without harassment.

Only with clean hands O Yahweah may you hear this petition that I make a CLAIM and Hope there are other’s who can see this – mend us where we need to be cleansed O Jesus so that we can make this petition – that I/we petition Our Heavenly Father who came and dwelt among us as Christ, clothed IN YOU – Please restore our health and wealth in every measure, physical and spiritual, reward those who are against truth & equity for their trespass:

    Exodus 22:
9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

  4. Amen, Don. I did my duty and voted for Yahweh’s commandments, statutes, and judgements, not man’s. There are, indeed, others standing with you as Ted suggested, refusing to bow to Baal. Keep the Faith!!

  5. Don,

You’re not alone and there’s a remnant out there that haven’t bent the knee to Baal.

You’re right about this: “Morally, and spiritually speaking, this is us. Many of our own travelers toward the Celestial City will spit in the face of God and vote for a man He has told them, in very certain terms, to reject. They will vote to be ruled by an idolater. What will be the judgments of God Almighty if we do this thing?” And these are “the good guys”.

The judgments have already begun. All one needs to do is look around.

From being on the brink of WW III to the massive weather events of the last decade to the massive animal, fowl and fish die offs over the past few years to The Gulf of Mexico disaster, which is connected to the current calamity in progress in Assumption Parrish, LA that keeps moving closer to collapsing the dome cavern containing 1.5 Mil. barrels of liquid butane (believe me, that’s no light matter what’s going on there and has the potential to, among may other things, trigger the New Madrid Seismic Zone, which could literally divide this country in two [or 3 ?: Rev. 16: 18 – 19 perhaps?]) to being on the brink of total economic collapse, etc., etc., etc.

As some of us in The Body feel somewhat helpless and wonder what to do about the condition of the almost total depravity and wickedness (taught to us by those who hate us and hate our God) we find our nation in and how to reverse it, one can’t help wondering if He’s about to just “level the playing field” so to speak.

Perhaps we should be getting ready do all the things His Body is supposed to do, sooner rather than later.
