Why This Blog

This is the beginning of a great adventure. There are endless thousands of people pecking and posting every thought about every subject. Why then, am I increasing this tsunami of opinion, fact, observation, and commentary? Certainly the world is not lacking words to read and I am not a genius waiting to be uncovered.

I am a Bible believing conservative. More than that I believe that God’s word and law apply to all of life and to all of modern problems. My theology is reformed, a perspective a bit rare in today’s world. This has not always been the case. Reformed theology used to be just normal in this land but that was a long time ago. Covenantal thinking used to be a description of how we thought as a nation but that mind set has lost its hold on the American mind. Most American Christians have never begun to consider their life or faith from a covenantal perspective. The whole idea has been lost to the American church.

The reformed faith has always been a thinking faith. There is a lot of content in their theology. Reformed people are preaching a faith that encompasses the whole Book for all of life. We believe that doctrine pushes us and others to live and act in certain ways. Non-covenantal doctrine leads to lives that are steered into unnecessary problems and ultimately into sin that could have been avoided. Pride or arrogance about good doctrine are not helpful but the pursuit and obeying of truth is. I want to be a bridge between the reformed camp and the evangelical world.

Besides this my goal is to apply Biblical truth to current events – to the current culture. The enemies of our faith are daily on the move against our faith and against our God. To the best of my ability I will expose that which is evil and lift up the good. This blog is not an event it is a journey. Travel with me then, share whatever good here you find, rebuke me if you must. Either way the kingdom of Christ will advance inexorably to its perfect completion. It is my privilege to be called to this work.
